Clover Press has just launched two art books on David Mack and Alex Maleev on kickstarter and they’re already well past their target. Here’s a few details…

The new series from Clover Press will debut with The Marvel Art Of David Mack and The Marvel Art Of Alex Maleev, two prestige coffee table books that celebrate the careers of two distinctive artists whose names are synonymous with the adventures of Daredevil, the Man Without Fear, and so much more!

What are The Marvel Art Of… books?

The Marvel Art Of… books are a series of high-end, boutique artbooks that showcase legendary Marvel Comics’ artists, featuring iconic images alongside rare and never-before-seen artwork. We’re working closely with each artist to craft a beautiful representation of their work over the years with Marvel. Supporting this campaign supports each talent directly.

With an illustrious career spanning nearly three decades, David Mack has created some of the most iconic and memorable artwork in the history of comics. He’s known for his work on Marvel titles such as DaredevilAliasand Jessica Jones, as well as creating the character Echo, all of which have earned him widespread recognition and critical acclaim.

The Marvel Art Of David Mack collects Mack’s art for Daredevil and other Marvel books, and includes never-before-seen sketches, behind-the-scenes material, a foreword written by Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Wilson Fisk in the hit Netflix series Daredevil, and an afterword by Brian Michael Bendis in a high end 9″ x 12″ hardcover book of about 200 pages.

Eisner award-winner Alex Maleev has worked on several Marvel titles, including seminal runs on DaredevilSpider-Womanand Moon Knight. Maleev began working in comics in the early 1990’s and quickly rose to prominence on several high profile projects at other companies, before teaming with Brian Michael Bendis on Daredevil, and reuniting with Bendis to re-imagine Spider-Woman and Moon Knight.

ABOUT DAVID MACK

David Mack is a writer, artist, director, and designer. Mack earned an Emmy Award nomination for Marvel’s Jessica Jones opening titles, is the New York Times bestselling creator of Kabuki, and has written Daredevil, where he co-created Echo. In 2018 Mack was honored with the prestigious Inkpot Award for his achievements in comic book art. His work has garnered nominations for ten Eisner Awards, four International Eagle Awards, and both the Harvey and Kirby Awards in the category of Best New Talent, as well as many other national and international awards and nominations.

 

ABOUT ALEX MALEEV

After launching his career in comics in Bulgaria, Alex Maleev moved to New York in 1995 and enrolled in The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art which eventually led to partnerships with all of the top comic companies. A year later, he was presented with the Russ Manning Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Maleev works in a variety of different mediums, but it is his watercolor techniques that have made him one of the most sought after variant cover artists. Maleev won an Eisner Award in 2003 for best ongoing series while working with Brian Michael Bendis on Daredevil.
