Farewell To A US Comics Original

Yesterday we found out that veteran comics writer Peter David passed away at the age of 68 after a long illness. Here’s tributes from a selection of his industry friends and contemporaries…

Here’s what veteran comics writer and editor Joseph Illidge had to say about his passing:

Artist Michael T Gilbert said this too

Veteran US comics artist Steve Leialoha said this

For most comic collectors, there comes a point where you realize that as much as you like certain characters, what you _really_ enjoy is the work being done by specific creators.

Peter David was one of the first writers whose name = “worth every penny” when I bought a book.

From DC’s former Executive Editor and former Marvel editor Mike Carlin:

The Boys co-creator Darick Robertson had this to say

I’m so sad to learn that the world has lost the immense talent that was Peter David. I worked with him just a bit in the beginning of my Marvel career, on X-Factor and on my one issue of “Incredible Hulk”. He was wry, and funny and had a brilliant imagination.

RIP, Peter.
