Tripwire Catches Up With US Online Indie Platform Flipside In 2026
On The Flipside
In early 2025 Tripwire spoke to Marc Deering his new online comics publishing venture. Here is a link to that interview:

After twelve months, our contributing writer Paul N Neal decided to reach out to Deering for a progress report…
TRIPWIRE: Marc, we last spoke about Flipside Comics approximately a year ago. The fundamental question here is pretty straightforward. Can you offer an update about how Flipside Comics has been going since we last spoke? The last time Tripwire heard from you it’s fair to say you had some pretty grand ambitions. Have you experienced any obvious obstacles to success in the last year?
MARC DEERING: Weellllll…. Yes. But it’s probably not what you or any of your readers think. Flipside is still working, still running, our very first comic, Psychotic Reaction, is about to go live on all our Print-On-Demand channels, including Amazon, so visit the site for more news. Our other two books are about to debut as well, Sam and His Talking Gun and Freak.
Of the obstacles we’ve had to get through, all of them technical to be honest, the one that dealt the biggest blow was the loss of one of our founding members, Lawrence Christmas. He’s the one who came up with the design for the site as well as the bulk of its functionality. His loss was a huge hit.
TW: With the benefit of hindsight, have there been any lessons learned? Looking back would you have done anything differently?
MD: A lot. All technical in the fact that I have been on my heels working to learn how to keep the website up and running but also paring it down to the essentials now. Really stripping out most of the fluff that was on the site to make it more focused and condensed to what we originally felt the site could/should be.
TW: Beyond your time working on Flipside Comics, how has your professional career as an artist been going? Did 2025 present any particular high or low points for you professionally?
MD: 2025 was…not the greatest year, to be honest. There were too many personal losses, so those would be my low points, but my art career is going just fine. The Adventures of Lumen N. from Dark Horse by James Robinson, Phil Hester and myself with colours by Bill Crabtree came out and I am very proud of that book. That would be the high point, along with finally launching Flipside Comics.
TW: What can fans expect from Flipside Comics in 2026 and beyond?
MD: COMICS!! Like I said before, Psychotic Reaction is coming for the world to read, Sam and His Talking Gun and Freak are both on their way as well. Lee and I are working on a brand-new strip that will be on the site, Dauntless Inc. so that’s going to be fun. But honestly, just more comics. They are coming. 😊
TW: Would you be able to provide a suite of images, or a preview of pages for fans? Call it a teaser of sorts, as a way to promote the projects you mentioned?
MD: Yeah, I can do that.
