Frank Capra’s holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life is so associated with Christmas in our minds, that it sometimes obscures the film’s darkness prior to Jimmy Stewart’s George Bailey reaching the films life-affirming climax. At this time of year those of us who will have the luxury of spending both time and money on our loved ones, should perhaps consider those who can do neither.
