The Way to Fury Road: Bringing the World of Max to life
The Art of Mad Max: Fury Road, Abbie Bernstein, published by Titan Books. After the film’s release, we get to see this behind-the-scenes book which takes a look at George Miller and crew’s efforts to recreate the world of Max for a fourth installment. For people fascinated to see how things like Imperiator Furiosa, Immortan Joe and all of the vehicles and settings are brought to life on screen, The Art of Mad Max: Fury Road is a lovely lavish coffee table book chock full of storyboards, models, photos from the shoot itself and concept art that give the reader a very impressive glimpse into the world of the film. We get to see lots of Brendan McCarthy’s concept drawings, artist Mark Sexton’s storyboards and production designer Colin Gibson’s amazing drawings, showing how they actually created places like The Citadel on screen. Unlike many Making of books, The Art of Mad Max: Fury Road is a well-edited book that drills down into Miller and Co’s processes, giving fans of the film a hardcover that’s worth picking up…
