Dear all,

Well, we’re back again! And we are incredibly proud to be able to say WE ARE ALREADY FUNDED! And can start the production of ENCORE: BRONZE – The Art of Liam Sharp, the third and final volume of the comprehensive trilogy of art books (following the hugely successful ‘GOLD‘ and ‘SILVER‘ campaigns – THANK YOU!!!) featuring a selection of never-before-seen stories and artwork from over thirty seven years in the comics industry.

This volume also includes an introduction by revered, pioneering editor Scott Dunbier, and a huge profile on me by writer, critic and teacher, Dave Gillette, based on 20+ hours of interviews given over the period of a year. It also contains notes and commentary from me regarding many of the largely unseen projects that are included.

Thank you so much for going on this amazing journey with us!!! It’s been quite the learning curve! But I’m incredibly proud of what myself and Christina were able to pull off, and it has been humbling and rewarding for us both to interact with you all in the process.

Important note: The original GOLD campaign was for a soft back 100 page book, but went on to become a high-end 140 page spot-varnished and embossed hard back with a ribbon, and additional dust jacket with gold foil, so we have raised the initial price on subsequent campaigns so all three books can all be of the same extremely high quality.It is with regret that we note the cost of materials and shipping has increased enormously over the last two years, so this is also reflected in the new pricepoints.

BIOG

Liam recently wrapped his ground-breaking and acclaimed Image Comics series StarHenge: the Dragon and the Boar. Before that he was engaged in an epic 24 issue run on DC’s The Green Lantern with Grant Morrison, and Batman: Reptilian with superstar writer Garth Ennis. But before that, and before his award-winning six issue limited series ‘The Brave and The Bold: Batman and Wonder Woman‘ (which he also wrote) and before the wildly successful ‘Wonder Woman: Rebirth‘ with fan-favorite writer Greg Rucka, Liam had a long and distinguished career as an artist and also a writer of both comics and prose fiction. He has also been a well-regarded boutique publisher, co-founding both the Mam Tor imprint and the ground-breaking digital company Madefire.

Liam has worked for Marvel, DC,Vertigo, Wildstorm, Image, Darkhorse, Fleetway and Dynamite, producing a huge range of eclectic work in every imaginable genre.

ABOUT THE BOOK

ENCORE: BRONZE showcases, on finest quality art stock paper, several previously unpublished strips and complete stories, along side other work. It is a love letter to creativity, and the need to continue to produce material, even if it fails to find a home. That is what makes a true artist – the endless desire to make art, even when there is no client, and no other reason to do it aside from the act of creation in and of itself.

This book showcases Liam’s innovation, his evolving storytelling techniques, and his writing, while giving readers a glimpse into the real life struggles of this determined comic creator – from early breaks, young stardom, through depression and hardship, and beyond, into a new era of success over his almost four decades journey in the field.

This campaign will also be offering a slip case for the three volumes as an add-on.

A limited number of complete sets (minus dust jackets – see image below) with slip cases will also be available as an add-on.

Risks and challenges

Risks and challenges As the art already exists and the majority of the book has already been compiled, there is very little that could delay the production of the book, baring production issues, and the unforeseeable happening – which unfortunately was the case with ENCORE: GOLD due to the pandemic and supply issues. As such we have given ourselves a much longer period to get the book produced and shipped to you. We have also streamlined the offers, which proved far too much for us to manage the first time around. We wish to avoid any danger of not delivering what we have promised, or disappointing any backers.
