A Full Throttle Sci-Fi Saga Presented In Premium Formats For The First Time

Now live on Kickstarter: Magnetic Press launches its first collaboration with Label 619MFKZ, the explosive graphic novel series by Guillaume “Run” Renard that launched a cult multimedia phenomenon that’s part X-Files paranoia, part Grand Theft Auto grit, and part lucha libre legend. MFKZ is a five-volume urban epic that’s already become a staple of underground fandom and indie comics culture…

MFKZ began as the short film Operation Blackhead before evolving into a comics sensation and, ultimately, a critically acclaimed animated feature. Co-produced by Studio 4°C (The Animatrix, Tekkon Kinkreet, Batman: Gotham Knight), released in U.S. theaters by GKIDS in 2018 and currently streaming on various streamers, MFKZ has cemented itself as a genre-bending vision of sci-fi, satire, and street survival set against a neon-scorched dystopic version of Los Angeles called “Dark Meat City”.

Magnetic Press is thrilled to bring the complete MFKZ saga together in its most premium, collectible form yet, offering fans the ultimate way to experience this underground classic!

Young Angelino (a kid with a jet black cueball for a head) could be the key to stopping (or starting) the End of the World, and he and his buddy Vinz (a kid with a flaming skull for a head) find themselves pursued by mysterious Men in Black, territorial street gangs, and a team of Mexican wrestlers who’ve been guarding mankind for decades. Together, they unravel a global conspiracy that will blow your mind.

“I’d really love for American readers to fully dive into the MFKZ universe—what we call the Mutaverse,” said Guillaume “Run” Renard. “It’s a rich world, sometimes intimate, sometimes totally over-the-top, but always coherent and interconnected. We’re incredibly proud of how Magnetic Press has brought our books to life in the U.S. […] It’s an honour to work with an American publisher that respects creators and truly gets what we’re building.”

This is a collector’s “dream drop” from Magnetic Press. These campaign-exclusive editions deliver the MFKZ saga in deluxe formats that will never be offered again.

If They Live, Kill Bill, and Akira threw a block party, MFKZ would crash it and steal the mic. Support the campaign now and secure your copy before these editions vanish.  Campaign ends on Friday, 30 May 2025.
