Meet The Stars Of Blood Of My Blood

On Monday, 28 July STARZ celebrated the bold new chapter of the “Outlander” universe with the red carpet premiere of the sweeping romantic saga, Outlander: Blood of my Blood, at the DGA Theatre in Los Angeles. Series stars including Harriet Slater, Jamie Roy, Hermione Corfield, Tony Curran, Rory Alexander, Sam Retford, Séamus McLean Ross, and Conor MacNeill were joined by “Outlander” favourites Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish who were introduced onto the carpet by a bagpipe performance, offering an apt welcome to the epic expansion of the beloved franchise. The cast was accompanied by “Outlander: Blood of my Blood” showrunner and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts, executive producer Maril Davis, and the acclaimed author of the “Outlander” book series, Diana Gabaldon. Here’s a few red carpet interviews…

In addition to the dazzling red carpet, attendees were treated to a dynamic walk-through activation bringing the new epic romance series to life – beginning at the fabled stones of Craigh Na Dun. From there, visitors were transported into the 1920s Postal Censorship Department to comb through passionate love letters, before they entered the storied Great Hall of Castle Leoch to don their best kilts and period-appropriate props for a photo moment. Lastly, attendees were enraptured by the magic and mystery of Beltane and the Gaelic May Day festival, hallmarked by fantastical costumes and revelry. As a special treat, fans enjoyed a tasting of Outlander star Heughan’s renowned Scotch whisky, The Sassenach Spirits.

Kicking off the screening, attendees were welcomed by Kathryn Busby, President of Programming for STARZ, who remarked that the timeless romantic drama “delivers everything we cherish about the original series – sweeping emotion, time travel and life-altering choices.” Busby added, “I promise you Outlander fans, this show will NOT disappoint. BUT this series also stands powerfully on its own with rich new characters and stories that promise to attract a whole new generation of viewers.” Busby then welcomed showrunner and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts, who shared, “I never imagined that I could make a living telling stories, like those I’d read about, let alone stand here on a night like this.” Roberts continued, “I want to thank everybody at Sony and STARZ. Thank you for believing in this project from the very beginning.”

The festivities continued at the picturesque Bar Marmont, where guests sipped on themed cocktails and enjoyed passed canapes. The afterparty infused elements of both Scotland and England featuring tartan, candelabras, Highland flame matchbooks and more, creating a magically engaging experience for attendees.
