Rare And Iconic Film & Music Posters Sell For Over £430,000 In UK Auction Yesterday

Propstore’s Poster Live Auction came back for its tenth outing yesterday, with bidders battling for the ultimate in pop culture posters and artwork – totalling over £430,000 ($490,00) (including buyer’s premium) – a new record for the auction house.

Over 500 lots were sold as part of the auction, including an incredible collection of James Bond posters…

An Ultra Rare Untrimmed UK “Gone with the Wind” Style A Quad, 1980 from STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) sold for a record-breaking £15,000 ($17,250)

A US One-Sheet, 1942 from FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN (1942) sold for £6,875 ($7,906.25)

Propstore – one of the world’s leading film and TV memorabilia companies, has today announced results from its September 2022 Poster Live Auction, with posters and artwork on offer fetching more than £430,000 ($493,140). The auction was suitable for fans of any genre, and with any budget – from horror classics to concert posters selling for between £100 ($115) and £15,000 ($17,250).

• French Double Grande Affiche (Two-Panel), 1965 from JAMES BOND: THUNDERBALL (1965) sold for £4,687.50 ($5,390.62)
• Daniel Craig Autographed 007 Bookplate and Limited-Edition Presentation Book with Exclusive Studio Photographs, 2021 from DANIEL CRAIG’S BOND (2021) sold for £3,750 ($4312.50)

• US One-Sheet, 1985 from THE GOONIES (1985) sold for £1,375 ($1,581.25)
• British One-Sheet, 1980 from THE BLUES BROTHERS (1980) sold for £1,125 ($1,293.75)
• UK Quad – Local, 1974 from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) sold for £1,000 ($1,150)
• UK Quad, 1964 from THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN (1964) sold for £1,000 ($1,150)
• US 30 x 40, 1957 from THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957) sold for £500 ($575)
