Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips have just completed their fifth Reckless graphic novel, Follow Me Down, and Brubaker has just previewed a few pages from it on his online newsletter…

It is done…

The new RECKLESS book, Follow Me Down, I mean.

Other than a few pages that Jake still has to color, we’ve officially wrapped our fifth full length graphic novel in under two years. I think this is the best one yet, and one of the most fun aspects is how it fits in and around the last book, The Ghost in You. This is the story of the case Ethan was out of town on during that book, so there’s a few moments of overlap here and there.

Sean and Jake leveled up on the art this time, somehow. We’ve been working together for over 20 years now and Sean still manages to surprise me, and Jake just gets better every day, apparently. Eisner nomination well deserved.

Here’s the big stack of pages for the book from the day Sean finished inking the last one… Kind of amazing.

Sean did another bookplate for comic shops that order enough to get signed copies, as we’ve done with the previous books in the series. So be sure to let your shop know if you’re looking for a copy with a signed bookplate. The book will be out in mid-October, and I’m sure I’ll remind you a few more times before then.
