Terry Pratchett’s Discworld To Be Adapted as Graphic Novel Series By Transworld and Puffin

Over at The Bookseller, they have just announced that Terry Pratchett’s Discworld is to be adapted into graphic novels by Transworld and Puffin. Here’s a few details…
Transworld and Puffin have signed deals for three graphic-novel adaptations of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, marking the start of the “Discworld Graphic Novel Universe”.
Puffin acquired world rights to The Wee Free Men, to be adapted by Pratchett’s daughter Rhianna Pratchett, with an illustrator still to be announced.
Transworld acquired world rights to Thief of Time, with artwork by prize-winning illustrator Rachael Stott, and Monstrous Regiment, whose artist is still to be revealed, from Jon Wood at RCW, on behalf of the Terry Pratchett Estate. These acquisitions will form the first graphic novels in the “Discworld Graphic Novel Universe”.
Thief of Time will be published on 2nd April 2026, with Monstrous Regiment following in the Autumn and The Wee Free Men publishing in Spring 2027, with further titles to be announced.
The first graphic novel in the series, Thief of Time, is adapted by LEGO comics author Gary Chudleigh. The illustrator, Rachael Stott, won Best Newcomer Artist at the British Comic Awards and has worked on numerous comic brands including Marvel’s X-Men, Star Trek and Doctor Who.
“Brimming with Pratchett’s signature wit, insight and imagination, Thief of Time features dynamic, vivid artwork, taking the reader on an unforgettable journey into the heart of time itself,” the publisher says. “With fan-favourite recurring characters Susan and Death at its centre, this is a brilliant starting point for newcomers to Pratchett’s series, and the perfect invitation for long-term fans to see the Discworld in a new light.”
Readers can follow the graphic novel’s creation on the Terry Pratchett newsletter, which will feature insight and previews into the making of the graphic novel in the run up to publication.

Growing up in Wiltshire, England’s ‘Chalk Country’, and having a shepherdess grandmother makes it a very personal book for me, as well as being the gateway into the superb Tiffany Aching series. The book has so much heart, joy and humour that can be enjoyed by readers of all ages, and I hope the graphic-novel collaboration with Puffin will open up these marvellous stories to a new audience.”
