Variety reports that AMC has launched a web series for Fear the Walking Dead, which will premiere this autumn during The Walking Dead Season 6.

Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 is a 16-part web series following airplane passengers during an early outbreak, when an infected traveler puts both plane and passengers in jeopardy.

Flight 462 lands on Oct. 4 on AMC.com, then airs during the commercial breaks of Season 6 premiere of The Walking Dead on Oct. 11. The rest of the minute-long episodes will show online and on TV during the flagship show every Sunday.

“‘Flight 462’ is a great extension of the world of ‘Fear’ and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV. “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they’ll bring one of these new characters to the second season of ‘Fear’ will be really exciting for viewers to follow.”

The web series bridges the gap between “The Walking Dead” Season 6 and “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 2, which will return with 15 episodes in 2016. A character from Flight 462 will join the Season 2 cast of FTWD.
