Support Liam Sharp’s The Unseen Jack Katz
Celebrating Eight Decades In Comics
We here at Tripwire have always been keen to promote people’s comic kickstarters and Liam Sharp has just launched a brand new project, The Unseen Jack Katz. Here’s a few details…
THE UNSEEN JACK KATZ
The Unseen Jack Katz presents, for the first time ever, a selection of complete, previously unseen and unpublished stories, alongside pencil pages from some unfinished epics sampled from legendary artist Jack Katz‘s huge archive. These will be presented in high resolution pencil art form, just as they are, but also newly inked and lettered, especially for this unique collection, by artists Sandra Hope, Liam Sharp and Mike Perkins. In addition a central unpublished 22 page story Artemis Rises will be inked by some of today’s comic legends (see examples below), including Bryan Hitch, Joe Prado, Michael Cho, Andy Curry, Bill Reinhold and many more! The book will also feature an exclusive, in-depth interview with Jack by Ted Jalbert.
Book specs:
120 pages
7.5″ x 11″
soft back
150g high-quality art stock paper for the finest reproduction of Jack’s incredible pencil work.
(See stretch goals for additional information.)
Jack Katz is one of the true masters of the comic industry, with a career spanning a staggering eight decades! He was born 1927 in Brooklyn, and began working for comic book publishers in the 1940s, during the period historians have come to call the Golden Age of Comic Books, A student and friend of such illustrative giants as Hal Foster and Alex Raymond, he attended the School of Industrial Art in New York City. but it was his pioneering work on what may well be the very first graphic novel in the 1970s and 80s on his epic series The First Kingdom that truly sealed his fame.
The book will be produced as a collaboration between Big Wow Publishing and Liam Sharp (co-founder of Madefire/Mam Tor Publishing, and artist on DC’s Green Lantern and Wonder Woman) on behalf of Jack Katz.
MAILING
For mailing outside of the US we have charged a $20 fee based on typical costs for products of this weight and size.
For US mailing there will be an added fee of $5.

If the campaign reaches $6500 all the books will automatically become hardback editions.
If we reach $10,000 we will be able to add an extra 20 pages of content TO ALL THE BOOKS with art from Jack’s incredible archive.
If we pass the $12,000 threshold all the books will have an exclusive additional dust jacket.
End note: Huge thanks to Lorcan McSharp for his help filming and editing our exclusive video.
Risks and challenges
The book is 95% complete, with only a few inked pages outstanding, which means we can still complete the project even if those final pages fail to materialise – it is, after all, a showcase of work that already exists! We have built in extra time for printing, but anticipate no insurmountable challenges.
