Steve Rude and Mike Baron’s Nexus Returns – As a Newspaper!
Nexus: The Newspaper Strip

No, really – it’s THIS big!
Nexus, the creation of writer Mike Baron and artist Steve Rude, debuted in a three-issue black-and-white limited series from Capital Comics. Nexus then went on to run for 80 colour issues published first by Capital Comics and then First Comics. Dark Horse Comics then published issues as a one-shot and several miniseries thus bringing the total number of issues in the canon up to 105.
More recently Nexus has been appearing in the excellent Dark Horse Presents. There was even an animated Nexus (See clip at the bottom of the page). If you haven’t ever seen Nexus – shame on you. One of the best Science fiction and superhero series ever, it deserves your attention.
Well now Baron and Rude are back with Nexus the Newspaper Strip: how big is it? Well, as Stan Lee used to say “it’s bigger than a breadbox!” It’s the size of an old-fashioned comics section, with pages of gorgeous Steve Rude art!
We have interviews with Steve Rude, Mike Baron, and Steven Legge their colourist lined up over the next week or so in Tripwire, and a video review of the latest Nexus volume. We just wanted to get in ahead to get you guys to go across to http://www.rudedudeproductions.com/ and look at this awesome beast! You can download digital editions – there’s a free copy of number one available – but the delivered options include a whole raft of Nexus and Steve Rude related good stuff. Yes, you could be buying plastic collectables in a box, or you could be buying art in a box. The choice is up to you – we know which we’d go with though…
The YouTube video for the Nexus newspaper strip is below, and just for a bit of fun, so is a clip from the animated show. More stuff related to Nexus and the creative team soon…

And, the answer is: no. Postage to the UK for three months is more than the cost of three issues. I suppose I could subscribe digitally but the USP of this project is the newspaper for me. Let’s hope some bright spark buys in bulk and ships to the UK for order?

Hi John – We’re going to ask if something can be done about that. Don’t know, but don’t ask, don’t get…
