♦When Star Trek: Mission New York lands at the Javits Center in September it will bring with it a star-studded lineup of Star Trek alumni including William Shatner, Walter Koenig, Kate Mulgrew, Karl Urban, Bruce Greenwood and Jonathan Frakes as well asexclusive merchandise sure to excite fans during this commemorative 50th anniversary for the franchise. ReedPOP, the world’s largest producer of pop culture events, today unveiled the official Star Trek: Mission New York poster.

StarTrek16_Poster_18x28-smallThe image was created for the show by Brian Rood, a professional illustrator working in the entertainment, comic and commercial art fields and most well-known for his photo-realistic paintings of Hollywood stars and characters. And the poster to commemorate the first edition of Star Trek: Mission New York is no different.

The illustration features the Original Star Trek cast reimagined. The poster will be featured on exclusive merchandise and prints that will be available for sale at the show. The artwork will also be used in local advertising and featured on posters at partner retailers in the New York City area. Star Trek: Mission New York will take place on September 2-4 at Javits Center and tickets are on sale now.

The arrival of Star Trek: Mission New York marks the return of a Star Trek fan fest to the Big Apple. The first Star Trek convention, which helped spark the fast-growing experiential fan event industry, took place January 21-23, 1972 at the Statler Hotel – now the Hotel Pennsylvania. Originally planned for 500 guests, the event became an instant blockbuster with more than 3,000 in attendance.  ReedPOP, global experts at producing and curating the world’s best fan experiences, will develop a unique program that will entertain and engage thousands of Star Trek fans for a new and different stand-alone experience.
