Peruvian Cyberpunk Comic Creator Gustaffo Vargas Has A New Kickstarter Campaign

We here at Tripwire are always happy to support and push comic and art related crowdfunding campaigns and Peruvian comic creator Gustaffo Vargas, currently based in Edinburgh, has a sketchbook campaign running on kickstarter so here’s a few details and how to pledge…

Gustaffo Vargas SKETCHBOOK vol 2 will be a collection of sketches, character designs, commissions, pinup & cover processes from Gustaffo Vargas, creator of the Peruvian Cyberpunk series. The SKETCHBOOK will be A4 size (21 x 29.7cm / 8.3 x 11.7 inch), full colour, perfect bound, and 60 pages long.

*The print run will be a limited edition, especially for this campaign.

The Kickstarter campaign was launched on 21 March and was funded in less than a day, at the moment the campaign is 200% funded. The campaign will end by 20 April.

The campaign includes a limited tier with a portfolio review from Vargas and his virtual studio pal, Russell Mark Olson as well as a two-hour virtual workshop and Q&A. It also offers the chance to get the full catalogue of Peruvian Cyberpunk books in physical or digital formats, previous Back to the 80s Skechbook and original art: sketches, fan art, character designs, original pinups and original covers.

About Gustaffo Vargas:

Gustaffo Vargas is a Peruvian comic book artist and writer based in the UK.

Since 2017 he self publishes Peruvian Cyberpunk comics, where he explores Pre-Columbian culture, South American societies, technology, and cybernetics in dystopian worlds.

He has worked with Dan Abnett in the sci-fi comic CRAYTA as lead artist and character designer, he’s made illustration work for Shelly Bond and Declan Shalvey. His latest collaboration is WTFK: A Lyrical with Jeff Boison for IMAGE comics Anthology #10.

He has also worked with UK independent publishers and self publishes SKRAWL comix magazine with the SkrawlLordz.
