♦ HBO’s anthology show True Detective comes back for a third season this January, 13 January to be precise, and here’s one of its stars Mahershala Ali chatting about it to Jimmy Kimmel this week…

Season 3 of True Detective will tell the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Ali will play the lead role of Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.

Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Luke Cage) has the lead, and Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of the show, is now be sharing writing duties with David Milch, the legendary writer behind renowned shows like Deadwood and NYPD Blue. True Detective returns 13 January 2019 on HBO. From Creator and Executive Producer Nic Pizzolatto and starring Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali, Stephen Dorff, Carmen Ejogo; the third season sees detectives investigating a grisly crime involving two missing children in the heart of the Ozarks.
