John Wagner Clarifies His Current Status On Judge Dredd

The End of A Dredd Era?

During a recent interview with Tripwire’s contributing writer Paul N Neal, legendary 2000AD and Judge Dredd writer John Wagner made a tantalising comment.
When asked if a sequel to Spector: The Incorruptible was likely, amongst his other thoughts the writer also stated, “I’m putting most of my effort into my Dredd with Mike Perkins, which may be my last.”

This morning, after online curiosity Paul asked John for an on the record comment to clarify his current feelings…

“I’m nearing the end of my career, Paul.  I’m not saying I won’t write another Dredd, but I have no wish to start turning out second rate material just for a bit of cash, so unless my heart is truly in it, I won’t.

Of course, if the perfect Dredd story pops into my head I’ll be happy to write it.”
