Help Mad Genius Don Martin’s Widow In A GoFundMe Campaign
Help To Preserve A Comics Legacy
Mad legend Don Martin’s widow Norma is running a gofundme campaign to help her make sure that she keeps the rights to his work and creations and here’s a few details on it…
Don Martin was a world famous cartoonist who died in 2000. His work appeared in MAD and CRACKED magazines and in pocketbooks. He had millions of fans of all ages and there are hundreds of internet sites discussing his art and his funny sounds. Click on the one appearing above for an interesting and illustrated look at his life and work.
He made other people rich. But he was only rich in talent. I am his widow living on social security, and I am trying to keep MAD and DC Comics, who are owned by AT&T, from stealing his name, trademark and work. How are they doing this and why should anyone care? Every creative person strives for recognition. It represents their talent. Whether a writer, painter, musician, poet, cartoonist, dancer, and so on, they all appreciate recognition. Everyone knows someone like this. This person may be someone very close or even yourself.
If AT&T wins the case I have been fighting all other creative people can just as easily lose control over their names and work too. My opponents have been using Don’s name on books and magazines all over the world as if it is their property. They have been putting his name on work he did not create. That is what I am fighting. I have done the best I can but will soon need the help of real lawyers. And big companies fight hard and dirty. Law is a complicated animal and I do not know enough to keep on fighting without legal help. But I will go on doing the best I can.
If Don loses his name and work countless others will also. Please don’t let this happen. The funds are needed now and through the
next eight to ten months months. I know many people do not like lawyers but their experience and training helps us. I have no way of knowing how much or how little it will cost, but anything you send to this account
https://GoFundMe.com/artists-rights-don-martin big or small, will be appreciated.
Funds that are not needed will be contributed to Doctors without Borders or other worthy charities. You will be helping Don’s heritage and countless other creative people who can just as easily lose control over their work and names. Please tell others. I know I can, should, and will win with your help. REMEMBER—ALL CREATIVE PEOPLE WILL WIN, WHEN I WIN. Don’t let the big companies own the arts…
Thank you for your help.
