George Clooney’s latest feature as director is now filming in the UK for Netflix.
Based on Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel, Good Morning, Midnight, the film has been adapted by screenwriter Mark L Smith (The Revenant) and is shooting under a working title.
Clooney also stars in the film as Augustine, a scientist alone in the Arctic, who faces a race against time to make contact with the crew of the Aether spacecraft that is trying to return to Earth.
Some of the filming will take place in Iceland with Felicity Jones among the cast. Clooney also produces with his Smokehouse Pictures partner Grant Heslov and Anonymous Content.
The Netflix project is one of many high-profile inward investment productions currently making their home in the UK; others include Cruella with Emma Stone, The Eternals with Angelia Jolie, and Venom 2 with Tom Hardy.
