Frank Darabont Auctions Off Some of His Amazing Art

♦One of Tripwire’s favourite film directors, Frank Darabont, who made The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist, is selling off some of his amazing collection of comic art through a US auction house…

Darabont, who is a huge fan of comics and horror and fantasy, has listed through Californian auction house Profiles in History. The list of items for sale reads like a who’s who of comics and movie history and here’s the statement issued by the auction house about the auction:

A Very Significant Collection of Comic and Illustration Art, Movie Posters, and Sculpture from the Personal Collection of Legendary Director Frank Darabont is coming to Auction July 30, 2016 from Profiles in History.

Following the hugely successful sale of Frank Frazetta art from the collection of Dave Winiewicz, Profiles in History is delighted to announce their upcoming sale of select works from the personal collection of legendary writer, director, and film producer Frank Darabont, to be held at our California gallery on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Featuring original works by master artists Bernie Wrightson, Mike Mignola, Sanjulian, Jack Davis, Will Eisner, Eric Powell, Bob Peak, Rich Corben, Vaughn Bode, bronzes by Ray Harryhausen, rare movie posters including a Frankenstein 1941 Italian 4-fogli, and more.
