Speculation that Tom Cruise and Universal Pictures might be wrapping up a deal on the studio’s reboot of hit adventure series The Mummy have been doing the rounds this week as the studio continues to plot a return to the monster business. Both Universal and the star’s people tell Deadline adamantly that no deal with Cruise is in the works for the film. He is currently filming Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Not one to let the grass grow under his feet, Mission: Impossible 6 begins shooting next August.
