Rumours of Justice League Dark Shoot in 2016
Justice League Dark May Come To The Screen in 2016
Even though Hellboy and Crimson Peak’s Guillermo del Toro is no longer attached, Warner Bros. is rumoured to be pushing forward on the project. Considering that del Toro spent a huge amount of time developing the film, called Dark Universe, he will still act as one of two producers alongside Scott Rudin, who is now said to be onboard the film.
“Sources confirm that Rudin is moving quickly on this one,” reads The Tracking Board‘s report, “making updates to the script and approaching directors. The project is now a priority for Warner Bros., with our sources also reporting that the studio is looking to shoot the superhero team-up film in 2016.”
If those same sources are correct, then we may be able to predict what’s in store, as the plot is said to involve “a series of ancient tomes stolen by a madman hellbent on the destruction of humanity. When he learns of this, occult detective John Constantine looks for a group of heroes that specialise in the mystic and arcane in order to save the world.”
No word on which members of the team will make the leap from page to screen, but we do know the group will co-exist in the same ‘world’ as the main Justice League — you know, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman — the same way that The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy both operate within Marvel’s cinematic universe.
