Five years after Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, Robert Downey Jr and director Guy Ritchie will be returning to tell a new film tale of Baker Street’s most famous detective. Star Robert Downey Jr has confirmed that he will be returning for the next sequel as will Ritchie. It is still uncertain whether Jude Law will be reprising his role as Watson. Speaking with Shortlist.com Downey Jr stated that production could begin as soon as the end of this year on the second sequel.

The first film made $524m while the sequel grossed $545m so a second sequel would probably be well-received.
