Marvel’s New Posters for Captain America: Civil War

With six months to go until release, three new posters bearing the tagline “Divided We Fall” debuted last night alongside the new Captain America: Civil War trailer. While one poster just shows off Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) on equal footing, two additional releases shine the spotlight on Iron Man and Captain America individually. These posters clearly show the rising conflict between two of Marvel’s most beloved characters, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark.

Directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Captain America: Civil War actually picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, with Evans’ Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their ongoing efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo splits the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, with the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. Get ready to choose a side and join the nonstop action which will be playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War opens in US cinemas in May 2016.

Evans and Downey are joined in the sequel by a cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt and Martin Freeman.
