Mark Ruffalo Talks Thor Ragnarok
A Road Movie Across the Universe
♦According to our friends over at Empire, Mark Ruffalo has just revealed a little bit of news about Thor: Ragnarok…
Thor: Ragnarok sees Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo reuniting, and Tom Hiddleston returning to the MCU, and the whole shebang looked after by What We Do In The Shadows’ Taika Waititi. Mark Ruffalo has compared the third Thor outing to a classic odd-couple road movie across the Nine Realms:
“There’s a little bit of Midnight Run, with [Charles] Grodin and [Robert] De Niro,” Ruffalo told Empire Magazine. “I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner. It is a universal road movie – that’s where we’re heading,”
“It’s not where you’d think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie but it has that structure, I think.” Ruffalo on the promotion trail for Oscar-nominated drama, Spotlight, hasn’t actually read the script yet , “but this is what we’re talking about.”
Ruffalo revealed that Thor: Ragnarok will be shot in Sydney and hinted his on-screen chemistry with Hemsworth has steered Marvel towards a more comic direction: “I love Chris [Hemsworth], and it’s not an accident that we’ve been put together because we have a good time together and we goof off. The fact that we’re moving towards the smart-comedic bent plays into our relationship.” Banner is headed to Asgard. “[Am I looking forward to that?] Hell, yeah.”
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for a UK release on 27 October 2017.
