• Facsimile Editions: DC is re-releasing the original four-issue series in a facsimile format, starting with The Dark Knight Returns Book One on 25 February 2026.
• Special Covers: The reprints will feature various cover options, including a foil version of the original artwork, a blank variant and new art by Frank Miller and Jim Lee.

• Release Formats: A Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: DC Compact Comics Edition is scheduled for release on 7 April 2026.
• Impact: The 1986 series, which followed a 55-year-old Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement on Earth-31, is credited with redefining the superhero genre, alongside Watchmen.
