Busiek and Leon’s Batman: Creature Of The Night Gets A Release Date
Batman In The Real World?
♦ Over at newsarama, they have just confirmed that Kurt Busiek and John Paul Leon’s Batman: Creature of The Night, the followup of sorts to Busiek’s Superman: Secret Identity, will be coming out on 29 November…
Writer Kurt Busiek and artist John Paul Leon’s Batman: Creature of the Night, the long-awaited thematic sequel to Busiek and Stuart Immonen’s Superman: Secret Identity first announced in 2010, has been put on the schedule for a 29 November debut.
“Superman: Secret Identity is about a young man named Clark Kent in a world where Superman is a comic book character. Batman: Creature of the Night is about a young man named Bruce Wainwright in a world where Batman is a comic book character. And both of them get involved in fantasy adventure scenarios that involve these characters,” Busiek told Newsarama in 2010. “But where Superman: Secret Identity was much more about self-identity and science fiction, Batman: Creature of the Night is a lot more about horror and dark things, because… he’s Batman!”
The four-issue Prestige format series Batman: Creature of the Night is set in Boston in 1968, and tells the story of Bruce Wainright, a young Batman fan whose parents are murdered during a robbery, and whose life suddenly has unexpected parallels to his.
