Avatar: The Way of Water ($2,243.2 million global to date) passed Titanic ($2,242.8 million global to date) to become the third highest-grossing film of all-time globally. Avatar: The Way of Water passed Jurassic World to become the ninth highest-grossing film of all-time domestically. Globally after its tenth weekend, Avatar: The Way of Water has grossed an estimated $2,243.2 million ($657 million Domestic and $1,586 million International).
James Cameron has three of the top four highest grossing global movies of all time – Avatar (#1), Avatar: The Way of Water (#3) and Titanic (#4).
Avatar: The Way of Water is the highest-grossing film of all-time in France, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Rep, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey, UAE, Cambodia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Colombia and Puerto Rico.
Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.
Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment Production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet.
