Bruce Campbell spoke to Sirius XM last year about the third season:

“We’re hoping it will be a game-changer,” said Campbell of season 3’s new story. “We felt it was time to explore a little more of Ash Williams’ myth, because he is foretold in an ancient book — this is not me, this is the character talking — and it was time to crack into that. He’s not just a loser in a trailer park. He is foretold. So, why? Why him? We start to get some answers, and things get completely crazy — in episode 10, hopefully people will pick their jaw up off the floor. That’s what we’re going for.”

The actor added that “nothing will be the same if we come back for season 4. And yet, if they don’t bring us back, I think we’ve done a nice little ba-dink.”

Ash vs Evil Dead is an American comedy horror television series developed by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi and Tom Spezialy for the Starz network. It is set in Raimi’s Evil Dead universe, with Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash Williams, and acts as a sequel to the original trilogy.

Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Lucy Lawless also star. The series is executive produced by Campbell, Raimi, Craig DiGregorio, and Robert Tapert, who originally produced all four Evil Dead films. The series premiered on 31 October 2015. Three days before the series’ premiere, Starz renewed it for a second season.
