Who Will Take Tonight’s Gongs?

Tonight’s the results of the 96th Academy Awards and here’s Tripwire’s predictions for the runners and riders for the big awards…

Best Picture

It’s a reasonably strong year 2024 with love for Maestro, Barbie and Killers Of The Flower Moon but Tripwire thinks that Oppenheimer will take the big gong tonight.

Best Director

Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things has been getting a lot of positive attention and Scorsese’s KOTFM also has its fans but again we think that Nolan is the favourite here too.

Best Actor

Sounding like we are repeating ourselves a little again, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro and Paul Giamatti in Payne’s The Holdovers both have their fans but we would be staggered if Cillian Murphy doesn’t take it for Oppenheimer.

Best Actress

For best actress, we think that Emma Stone from Poor Things will get this although Carey Mulligan could win it for Maestro.

Best Supporting Actor

We feel that Barbie could take a gong here with Ryan Gosling as Ken.

Best Supporting Actress

Tripwire is big fans of Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers so we are rooting for Da’Vine Joy Randolph in that and we feel that she should win.

We shall find out the results tonight and see if we are correct.
