Not Long Left Now To Grab A Unique Phillips Print

The next Tripwire print magazine featuring a celebration of 25 Years of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips working together, 10 years of Mad Cave Studios, 40 years of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, previewing the next Sherlock Holmes and The Empire Builders GN and more is live on Kickstarter now and it has sailed past its first stretch goal getting close to £3000 so here’s a preview of a few spreads from it including two pages of Marty Grosser and Matthew Plog’s The Gunhand and the Sean Phillips A4 prints. The campaign ends on 17 April and here’s a little preview of our exclusive Ed Brubaker interview too…

June 2024 is our fourth print quarterly and it’s packed full of impressive content as ever: under a Sean Phillips cover, we talk to Ed Brubaker and Phillips about collaborating together for the past twenty-five years, exclusively for Image and also offering a preview of their Criminal comic heading to the small-screen at Amazon later this year . Also we celebrate US indie publisher Mad Cave Studios’ 10th anniversary, now the home of such iconic creations as Flash Gordon and Dick Tracy, and look back at 40 years of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with its co-creator Kevin Eastman. It also includes the final part of our 101 Greatest Comic Artists Of All Time, counting down to Number One and our popular strip section Stripwire, featuring a preview of Sherlock Holmes And The Empire Builders Volume Two by Tripwire editor-in-chief Joel Meadows and artist Andy Bennett. 100 pages designed to its usual high production values, the Kickstarter version of Tripwire number 62 will feature a cover that is unique to the campaign.

Here’s a preview of The Professor and Time strip, written by Paul N Neal and drawn by Ian D Peterson, the first spread of our 10 Questions with UK indie creator Martin Simpson and the first Mark London spread from our Mad Cave feature

“I enjoyed writing books for Marvel and DC while I was doing it, and it was a great way to make a living for a while, but I always had at least one creator-owned thing going on even then. I’ve always been focused on creating new stuff and building me and Sean’s library. It’s just more satisfying to make your own thing than to get a page rate to write someone else’s characters. It’s fun for a while, sure, but there’s only so much writing a person can do in the day, and I want to focus on my own. ”

It also features exclusive Sean Phillips prints only available as part of the campaign.
